Our pastor, Roy Sharpe, is an intentional and professional interim pastor. He is not retired, not doing interim work in addition to another job, not burned out as a pastor, and not questioning his call to the gospel ministry. Rather, he feels called to the interim pastorate as a specialization in ministry and believes his skills match the needs of churches in transition between installed pastors.
As an installed pastor Roy served churches in Kentucky and Florida. He also worked as a staff associate for the Presbytery of Louisville. Roy has been the featured speaker at a number of church retreats and leadership training events. He was the keynoter at the National Youth Conference at Montreat, N.C. in 1993 and the preacher for the conference in 2000. He and his wife Harolyn have shared the leadership at several church renewal weekends.

Harolyn Sharpe is a professor of Public Speaking and Communication at Florida State College at Jacksonville. She was formerly on the national faculty of the Galef Institute, an educational foundation based in Los Angeles, California, where she worked as an instructional coach in elementary schools that use Galef’s arts-infused curriculum. As time permits, she performs and directs for community and professional theatres.
The Sharpes have four grown children and six grandchildren. As a couple they enjoy travel, the theatre, ballroom dancing, and working on house projects. Harolyn likes all kinds of exercise, most kinds of social interaction, and some kinds of sports. Roy enjoys reading, writing, sports, fishing, and carpentry.
